Flow Analysis of Air Foil in a Coal Fired Boiler

Air Foil is placed between Air Preheater and Windbox in Secondary Air flow path in a coal fired boiler. It is a flow measuring device for combustion air and used for maintaining flow of air to corner fired burners connected through Windbox. For 270MW Boiler two nos of Air Foil are used in both left and right side through duct path of Secondary Air. In this analysis the flow path of air inside the Air Foil is taken under observation according to the field values of different parameters.

  • Mass Flow Rate :- 92.787 Kg/sec.
  • Medium Temperature :- 577 K.
  • Pressure at Hot Secondary Air Duct inlet :- 164 mmWC.
  • Pressure at Air Foil Duct outlet :- 100 mmWC.
